OK, I made the 20th in 1988, missed everything since, haven't seen much about the '68 class, is anyone in charge of anything? Anything going on for the 45th this summer or should I wait for 2018-50th? Love to hear from anyone to catch up. I still swim and coach swimming, semi-retired but that is so meaningless these days... Be well!

Southwest Miami High School Class of 1963

Co-hosted by the Class of 1964, with invitations extended to members of Classes 1959 –1967

Progress Report

1. Dates: Scheduled events November 7, 8, and 9; related activities pending on 11/6 and 10.

2. Hotel: Miami Marriot Dadeland @ 9090 S. Dadeland Blvd, Miami, FL 33156 On-line registration available.

3. November 7: Homecoming Football game. In the Spring, the predicted opponent was Coral Gables, but that is now in the “possibility” category. Former football players, band members, cheerleaders and Pep Club members, and maybe Homecoming Courts, will take part in the event.

4. November 8: Dinner/dance at the Rusty Pelican on Key Biscayne with a beautiful view of the Miami Skyline, considerably different than it was 50 years ago.

5. November 9: Event at the School, to included catered food, and various activities designed to bring about a true reunion experience with structured and unstructured interaction with former classmates, neighborhood friends, and family members from different classes. Details will be worked out during the summer, but the operative word is “entertainment”.

6. November 6 through 8: Alumni will make presentations to current students in a classroom setting, about careers and how we found them, or they foundus. Presenters will be encouraged to let these young people know how we are counting on them to strive for a life that contributes to making this a betterand more livable planet, as so many of our classmates, who sat in these same classrooms, have done. The School is real enthusiastic about this.

7. Other opportunities to participate with the school are in discussion, but include:

• Hall of Fame Inductions (many are eligible)

• “Giving Back” opportunities (many are capable)

• Special Lancer input (we published a special issue at the 40

• Documentary of the event (joint student/alumni effort; print and/or film orvideo)

8. Website under construction.

9. Opportunities to help welcome: Don March 305.298.3120
